J&K Cycling Association conducts selection trial for 19th National Road Cycling Championship


JAMMU, Dec 14: Jammu and Kashmir Cycling Association today selected the state team for the upcoming 19th National Road Cycling competition to be conducted by Cycling Federation of India at Jamakhandi, Karnataka. Earlier, the trials for those boys from Srinagar took place at Nehru Park, Srinagar on December 11. The trials for Jammu boys were conducted at MA Stadium, here today under the supervision of general secretary of the Association, Om Parkash. Secretary was assisted in the selection process by Joint Secretary, Mushtaq Ahmed and coach, Rahul Kumar. The Selected Team: Elite: Prince Choudhary and Sachin Sharma. Men U-23: Mohd Akbar Khan, Arun Sharma, Ishfaq Ahmad Rather, Mehraj Qayoom and Hilal Ahmad Sofi. Men Junior: Waheed Ahmad, Karan Digpal, Wasif Ahmad Laway and Amir Asad. Men Sub-Junior: Aakarshit Pathak, Manan Hassan, Yougesh Sharma and Syed Hafiz Lateif. Men Youth: Suhail Ahmad Dar and Sheikh Saqeeb Ul Raheem.

J&K Cycling Association elects office bearers


Cycling Association elects office bearers JAMMU, July 27,2013
: Jammu and Kashmir Cycling Association elected office bearers in a General Body Meeting held under the chairmanship of S Rangil Singh, president J&K Olympic Association, here today. S Ravinder Singh was elected president of the Association, while Dr Ashutosh Sharma was elected senior vice president. Romesh Mahajan and Wasim Raja were named vice president Jammu and vice president Kashmir respectively. Om Parkash was elected general secretary of the Association, while Ravi Salgotra as treasurer. PD Singh and Mushtaq Ahmed were elected joint secretaries of (Jammu) and (Kashmir) respectively. The executive members nominated on the occasion were Shafatul Bashir, HS Chib, RC Thakur, Tanveer Ahmed, MM Sharma, Dr Nirmolak Singh, S Ravinder Singh, Bilal Ahmed, Vikas Gupta, Rahul Kumar Mehra, Shabir Ahmed, Nirmal Singh and Raj Kumar.

J&K Cycling Association conducted the trail for Jammu Province for selecting J&K Cycling Team for 9th National Mountain Bike Championship to be conducted by Cycling Federation of India at Pune, Maharashtra at M.A Stadium, Jammu under the supervision of Sh. Om Parkash, Gen. Secy. J&K Cycling Association & Ravi Salgotra; Treasurer, J&K Cycling Association. Munish Sharma & Rahul Mehra, Senior National Players also present. The selected players from Jammu Province will attend the conditioning camp alongwith the players already selected in the trail conducted in Kashmir Province. The players from Jammu Province & Kashmir Province will have to pass screening test to be taken by J&K Sports Council before departing to Pune. The selected players for conditioning camp from Jammu Province as follows:- Senior:- Vikesh Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar. U-19 :- Ravinder Singh, Ajay Kumar U-17:- Chanchal Singh U-13 :- Aakershait Pathak, Shubham Singh.
